Building our Tiny Home
Full disclosure: it’s a cargo trailer conversion
I’ve always been a hotel kind of girl, but I might be about to embrace the RV lifestyle. With the traveling situation out there looking like it’s going to be limited for a while longer, Brad and I decided to build ourselves a recreational vehicle.
Well… Brad’s building it, and I’m decorating. Once we settled on Modern Farmhouse, I was all in.
Brad had an extra trailer, so that’s what we’re converting into our camper. Since it will always look like a cargo trailer from the outside, the term stealth camper is more fun and makes it sound a little James Bond-ish. But even though it’s on wheels, I’m referring to it as our Tiny Home, since this will be our weekend home… anywhere scenic with a parking spot.
I’m determined to design a home that will make me forget we’re bedding down in a cargo trailer.
Weekend use is also a key factor in our building plans. We don’t plan to stay in it for more than one or two nights at a time, which means we’ll be able to scrimp a bit with our kitchen and bathroom. Maxing our relaxing is our top priority, which means a super comfy bed and an enticing living room.
We’re filming a whole series about it with all the nitty gritty details, in case you’re considering building something like this yourself. Please check it out on YouTube. The link to our first episode is below.
