What lurks beneath the floor and ceiling in every home?
The sub floor and ceiling strapping, of course! Although I’ll be the first to admit, I just figured out what these actually are.
This is the episode where Brad and I have alien-esque super blue eyes of artificial life trying to improve human existence.
Later it’s hard to see the color of Brad’s eyes with all the snow falling in front of them. Oh, the joys of construction in Calgary during the winter.
This also the episode in which we see Brad laying down the sub floor for our Tiny Home.
The modest plywood is no match for the gorgeous-yet-totally-affordable laminate plank flooring in the pipeline, but that episode is still a ways off into the future.
Important takeaways here are screwing down the floor correctly to prevent squeaks. Brad prefers an impact driver for this because it’s a little easier on the wrists than a drill.
And using a track saw instead of a table saw speeds up the cutting process.
Brad also completed the strapping for our Tiny Home ceiling. He likes the fact that the curved ceiling leaves a bit of space between the strapping and the insulation — a little extra space to run wires for electrical.
And somehow I managed to escape without lending a hand! Although I was hard at work on our Hammer & Home merchandise at the time. Did you notice our AMAZING outfits?
Brad’s blue hoodie is available here and so is my Tshirt. Although fyi my Tshirt is actually white. The alien blue mystery filter strikes again.
