The story behind My Texas House, the new home decor collection at Walmart

What is My Texas House and why does Walmart have a new home decor collection of the same name? It’s actually more of a who.

Erin Vogelpohl, stay-at-home mom of three, has been designing homes for her family and blogging about it for years. And, you guessed it, she lives in Texas. Dallas, to be exact.

If you haven’t heard about her southern style that brings together modern classic with a dash of farmhouse, her 600,000 followers on Instagram would probably be happy to fill you in.

This isn’t her first major brand deal rodeo either. She has already notched two collections with Orian Rugs. Meanwhile, her exclusive Walmart collection, launched March 1, 2021, mix textures, patterns and textiles for visual interest with a lived-in feel. 

Here are some of our favorite pieces from the collection, which is selling out fast.

Because Erin likes to have at least three pillows minimum in every couch corner (us too, Erin!) her Walmart collection features a lot of pillows. We particularly like this one, which busts out of her usual classic boundaries into the boho zone. The McKinney woven loop diamond textured pillow cover fits cushions that are 20″ x 20″.

This carpet is more in keeping with Erin’s go-to look, but could definitely also fit the French chateau bill. The made-in-America Boucle Dahlia Indoor Area Rug has high-low elements and is fade resistant. And is also one of the kazillion items that have free shipping at Walmart.

There’s something about the off-centered floral herb in this framed print that we find soothing. The white frame is solid wood, with a plexiglass cover, measuring 16×20″.

You can’t really get more textured that this 50″x60″ throw, with its waffle weave, fringed ends and cuddly coziness. Available in white and grey.

And finally, it’s the ol’ bed in a bag, brought to you by Walmart. But since this is a My Texas House design, the comforter and sheet set is reversible, with intricate damask scrolls on one side and diamond designs on the other for a mix-and-match look you can make your own. It comes in grey, soft green and rose.
